On Saturday 20th May a team from the Huddersfield office headed up by Antonia Coffey joined lot's of excited fundraising members of the public and some of our favourite local businesses to get covered in powdered paint for a good cause.
The 2017 colour run saw us run/walk/skip through fields around the Farnley estate to support the inspirational local charity Forget Me Not Children's Hospice as part of our ongoing commitment to them.
We have been working with the charity for a few years now and have heard and seen first hand the important work they do for families and children with life limiting conditions. Paul Keighley, partner at Bramleys has been around the hospice itself and seen just why they need our help.
Only 3.8% of their funding comes from the government, every other penny has to be raised by their team and the community.
This is how we started the run nice and clean!
On the day it was windy, raining at times (the sun visors were good at keeping the pelting rain out of your face!) and the sponsor businesses for the colour stations made sure we really got completely covered in a rainbow of powdered paint. The fundraising team at Forget Me Not did a terrific job as ever led by Jason Costello on the microphone!
At the end we were greeted by a colourful medal, bottles of water, crisps, and cake! Not bad for an afternoons work although next year we will heed the warnings and wear wigs!
It really was a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon with 1500 other people raising money for one of our favourite local charities. Until the next time!
