Injuries, Estate Agents & Team Bramleys Yorkshire Grit

Contrary to popular urban myths, Estate agents are nice people and believe strongly in the communites they work in.

This ethos was how Paul Keighley, Bramleys partner decided to approach our 2nd Leeds 10k with renewed vigour!

Not satisfied with helping just 1 worthy Yorkshire charity, we settled on raising for 3: Forget Me Not, Kirkwood, and Overgate hospice's, with a team of mixed ages and abilites totalling 7 runners.

We set about training, here's the highlights:

Injuries:

Keeping up with last years tradition, Paul picked up an achilles injury 2 weeks before the run, and was unable to run properly until the day.

Many quick visits to the physio ensured he fulfilled his duty on the day albeit painfully.

Tara managed to have a nasty fall too around the same time and struggled round the course aided by the crowds cheering and a handful of jelly babies.

The rest of team Bramleys were fighting fit luckily in case anyone needed dragging round Leeds!

Baking:

Janet, Paul's wife is a fantastic baker, seriously she is. Always keen to help boost the final total she spent many evenings in the run up to the race baking cakes for the office staff to buy.

An awesome effort although our waist lines may not thank her so close to most of our Summer holidays!

Begging:

We apologise for being pushy but no staff member, supplier, customer or friend has been safe from our sponsorship requests.

We never believe in doing things by halves and our aim right from the start was to raise as much as we possibly could. We are just the same when we sell homes!

Race Day:

We arrived in Leeds early for what could be described by some as perfect running conditions, by others as typical Britich summer!

The promise of a naughty Mcdonalds at the end definitely had Rachael, Annie, Jonathan, Abi & Dan limbering up eagerly.

For Dan, & Paul the added motivation of baby George waiting at the finish line to greet him too. Here's 3 generations of Team Bramleys!

The atmosphere was fantastic, we ran with many other runners for the charities and with our friends too. The fundraising bit was the cherry on the cake for what was a truly motivating day.

Beneficiaries:

We are delighted to have raised over £3000 for the charities. We would like to thank all our sponsors, staff and the charities themselves for their unfaltering support and encouragement.

When we are not running, we are pretty hot at selling houses, give us a call to talk to us about this and our other property related services.
