This year we have been supporting Forget Me Not Children’s hospice and towards the festive period, here’s what we decided to do.
Our friend’s at Forget Me Not Children's hospice issued an appeal to provide christmas presents for all of the children they are supporting and also present's, activities and games to provide some fun for their siblings.
Toys that could be played with by parents, staff and children were of a particular interest.
Sensory ones are very desirable to attract the children’s attention and encourage interaction with their loved ones. How could we ignore our friend's when they needed us most. Christmas after all is all about giving and love.
As has become apparent our team take fundraising for great causes as seriously as they do selling and letting houses! The staff went well above and beyond our request to donate new toys for this great cause.
A colourful array of items arrived into the office on a daily basis and 2 fundraising cake sales took place to raise cash to go shopping. Seriously gorgeous cakes baked by Janet, Paul Keighley’s wife, who’s baking is legendary, encouraged the staff to part with more of their cash and for many day's the afternoons in the office were a haze of sugary property bliss!
The partner's at Bramleys donated into the pot and we paid a visit to Toys r Us in Huddersfield to buy lot’s of exciting items and the staff there were seriously helpful too when they heard about just who we were shopping for.
Our Christmas bounty included 5 electronic keyboards, Playdoh, building block’s musical instruments, art & craft kit's, book's, Barbie’s, My little ponies, baby toy’s, a giant teddy, and much much more.
Paul Keighley and Emma Gledhill met up with Sharon Ennis and Sammie Loucas from Forget Me Not to deliver the toy’s to the hospice on Monday afternoon and as you can imagine they were incredibly touched by the donation's.
We wanted to wish all the wonderful people from Forget Me Not a really great Christmas and to our staff, well you are just awesome (but we know that as you are brilliant at your work for us!)
