Save the date! The Examiner Business Awards are back.

The Examiner Business Awards are back for 2020. Find out about this year's awards ceremony and our Residential Partner, Paul Keighley's thoughts and reflection on the event.

We're thrilled to be working with The Examiner Live again this year to highlight and celebrate the very best businesses across Huddersfield and Kirklees, including the business leaders themselves and their teams who have worked hard to drive their business and town above and beyond.

We are very proud to be the executive partners of such an admirable awards ceremony that recognise many businesses ambitions, innovation and success.

"My favourite part of the ceremony is seeing the surprise on the winners faces, getting the recognition they deserve" - Paul

“If I was to win any award in the world of my choice, my main ambition would be to achieve Grandad of the Year Award” - Paul

The most prestigious award of the night, sponsored by us, is a judge's choice award and therefore not open for entry. This individual will stand out from the crowd, demonstrating outstanding achievement and be an inspiration to those around them. Business Person of the Year in 2019 went to the vice-chancellor of the University of Huddersfield Professor Bob Cryan.

“The funniest story from a previous award ceremony? It has to be when Sean Jarvis won a couple of years ago. I was reading his story out as part of the ceremony and I could see him turning white with fear! I think he was worried I would embarrass him with some stories of when we used to play football together… many years ago of course!” - Paul

The glittering black-tie ceremony, which has been running for fourteen years, has long been recognised as a key date in the Huddersfield and Kirklees business calendar. Watch the video below to see when category finalists, the panel and leading figures got together for the 2019 awards:

"As a longstanding Huddersfield based business, we are proud to support The Examiner Business Awards and we are looking forward to seeing so many fantastic businesses get together and celebrate their mutual successes once again this year." - Paul

It is a special moment for everyone involved, and we can't wait to be part of the ceremony in November. Don't forget, nominations are welcome for businesses or they can nominate themselves.
