Bramleys began their 2014 auction programme with another strong sale. It was standing room only at the John Smith stadium as a packed room of nearly 400 bidders competed for the 16 lots on offer. Bidding was fierce and resulted in a 94% success rate, and total receipts of nearly £1.5million.
Most of the 16 lots sold exceeded their guide prices, many by as much as 50%, including a building plot at Rayner Road Brighouse for a pair of Semi-Detached houses which achieved £130,000, well in excess of it\\\'s attractive guide price of £45,000!. Pond Farm in the attractive hamlet of Little Lepton saw fierce bidding and exceeded it guide price of £250,000 by a further £40,000, selling to a local buyer.
Auctioneer Andrew Moorhouse FRICS commented: \\\"We were encouraged by the number of bidders present tonight and the strength of the competition. The level of prices achieved is indicative of a generally improving market, as well as the skill of Bramleys auction team in identifying and bringing to market suitable lots at realistic prices. With all indicators showing the market stabilising and growth forecast for the coming years, investors are now looking to come back into the market with more confidence\\\"
Bramleys next sale is scheduled for Thursday June 19th with a mix of investment properties and development opportunities already entered, additional lots are now being sought.
